چکیده

Ecker, R. E. (Iowa State University, Ames), and W. R. Lockhart. Relationships between initial nutrient concentration and total growth. J. Bacteriol. 82:80-84. 1961.-The relationship observed between maximal attainable growth in a microbial population and initial concentration of limiting nutrient depends upon the parameter selected for measurement of growth. A linear relationship is found only when cell mass is the parameter. When population is used as the measure of growth, the relationship is: N(max) = K'C(0) (s), where N(max) is the maximal attainable population, C(0) is the initial concentration of limiting nutrient and K' and s are constants. The use of this expression in demonstrating subtle differences between strains is shown.

تأثیر روی و مس و شکل‌های شیمیایی آنها بر رشد و ترکیب شیمیایی برنج در یک خاک آهکی

Due to low availability of zinc and copper in calcareous soils and the antagonism of these nutrients with each other, the study of their effects on growth and chemical composition of rice seems to have great importance. Also, the relations among different chemical forms of Zn and Cu and plant responses are very important, which can be used in investigation of antagonisms of these nutrients as w...

Phosphorus Relationships in Potato Plants

Maximum potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) tuber yields occur when an active plant canopy is maintained until normal plant maturation. Plaid nutrient concentrations and uptake rates play a major role in maintaining an active plant top. The objectives of this study were to relate the plant P concentrations to the P and dry matter balance between tuber and total plant growth needs. Growth analysis dat...

The influence of iron chelate and zinc sulfate on the growth and nutrient composition of chickpea grown on a calcareous soil

ABSTRACT- The effects of iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) treatments on the growth and nutrient composition of chickpea were studied in a greenhouse experiment arranged in a completely randomized design. While the application of Fe decreased mean shoot dry weight of chickpea, that of Zn had no significant effect on chickpea shoot dry weight. Increasing Fe levels drastically decreased Mn concentration an...

Beneficial effect of titanium on plant growth, photosynthesis and nutrient trait of tomato cv. Foria

ABSTRACT- Titanium is a beneficial element for plant since its promotive effect on plant metabolism has been well documented. However, the physiological role of this trace element in tomato is not clear. This experiment was conducted as a complete randomized design to study two concentrations of titanium (1 and 2 mg/L Ti) and 0 as control on physiological and nutrient properties of tomato cv. F...

Interactive effect of Mg and shading on the yield, physiology and antioxidant activity in cucumber grown in hydroponics

An experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of various concentrations of Mg (0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 mM) in the nutrient solution and shading (0 and 50%) on growth, yield, fruit quality and physiological properties in hydroponically grown cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. cv. Nagen 792). With increased Mg concentration in both shaded and unshaded plants, the total plant leaf area and dry weight of...
